CULTURAL

The Sea and Salt Museum
The Sea and Salt Museum is an ethnological museum that reflects the customs, art and popular traditions of the village of Torrevieja. A must see museum with an in-depth description of this fishing village. The salt crafts have an important place in the Salt and Sea Museum, such as the salt boats, traditionally handmade from Torrevieja, unique in the world.

Visit the Salt Lake
From the center of Torrevieja you take a train to the Salt Lake. Here you will get an explanation about the production of the salt, why the salt lake is pink and you can admire the salt mountains that can sometimes be 7 stories high. It is not very spectacular, but you just have to see it up close one time.

Nature parc La Mata
The second major lake in Torrevieja is the La Mata Natural Parc. It is a protected nature reserve where you can take guided walks. There are various eco-routes available. For more information, visit the Turismo Torrevieja website.

Island Tabarca
From the port of Torrevieja or Santa Pola you can take the boat to Tabarca. Tabarca is a small island located off the Spanish coast a few kilometers from Santa Pola. The island is part of the Alicante province. It is only 1800 meters long and has a maximum width of 400 meters. In the immediate vicinity there are several small uninhabited islands and cliffs. You can enjoy snorkeling and swimming.

Elche
Elche is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the reason for this is the Palm garden. This Moroccan palm garden, the foundation of which was laid by the Phoenicians, has been expanded by the Moors and has been neatly maintained ever since. Elche has also been nicknamed the Moroccan enclave in Spain. Elche is not the only city with a palm garden, but it is by far the largest with about 600,000 trees. The center also has a number of interesting buildings.

Murcia
Murcia is a city with a rich history, which dates back to the early 9th century. The city's most prestigious building is the Cathedral. It was built for centuries and as a result it exhibits one range of architectural styles, such as the Baroque facade, the Gothic Puerta de los Apostoles and the Renaissance Junteron chapel.

WATERPARCS

Aquapolis
A park with more attractions but suitable for everyone. There is a special children's area for the little ones with a mini park and a mini zigzag. For the older children there is the Kamikaze, fast slides and much more. From scary to mediocre to suitable for the little ones. Open July and August.

Aquapark Flamingo
Open from June to September. A small-scale water paradise. Have fun with slides. If you have smaller children, this is a great place to go for a day.

La Bocana Water Sport Center
Located in the port of Torrevieja down at the end of the dique. Here you can water ski on a cable or paddle.

GOLF

Numerous golf courses are located near Torrevieja. For example Las Ramblas. The golf course is built into a beautiful landscape of Mediterranean pines and natural watercourses. This environment fascinates many players because they see this course as a challenge for their game. The greens are large and generous, with fast and gentle slopes.

There are many golf courses in the immediate vicinity, so it is also nice to try several courses.
