OTHER

Corona has captivated us all, but we still have something to share with you this month.
IMPRESSION OF THE TOLDOS, SUNSETS AND LOUNGE SETS

We had previously mentioned that we would be installing toldos and sun shades. That happened last summer. Below we give an impression.
We have also purchased a new lounge set for both apartments.
Casa Vromans Bajo

Has a toldo in the garden that covers most of the garden, so you can also sit in the shade here. It is important that when you use the BBQ to retract the toldo past the BBQ.
Casa Vromans Alto

Here a toldo has been placed in the garden below, above the dining table so that you can also enjoy lunch in the shade here. In addition, three sunshades have been placed on the balcony (on the living area).

Of course it remains important to check the travel advice to Spain because they can be different in every country.
Please first check whether travel to Spain from your country is allowed and whether you may need to be quarantined when you return home.

Check our website for availability.

270 KILO HEAVY SHARK WASHED

At Playa Las Roquetas in Guardamar del Segura a two meter long shark was found on the beach. The shark was alive at that time but later died on the beach.
Most likely, the shark was sick and disoriented along the coast and then ended up on the beach.
Sharks do not often wash up on the beaches of the Costa Blanca, however dolphins can often be seen on the beaches.
In this case it was a specimen of the Great Blue Shark (tintorera). This is the most common shark along the Spanish coast. Although the tintorera or blue shark or prionace glauca is common in the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean, it is not seen much along the Spanish beaches. However, if a shark is seen anywhere, it is almost always the blue shark.

  • 1 tbsp sherry vinegar

Wrap a slice of ham around each prawn and brush with the oil. place the prawns in an ovenproof dish large enough to place them all side by side. Bake the prawns for 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 160 degrees C.
Put the prawns on a bowl and spoon the tomato-caper dressing over it. Serve immediately or allow to cool to room temperature. Delicious with a good glass of wine or a nice cool glass of beer.
